Dr. Peter Parker's Case History
s along the subclavian till it is lost beneath the sternum. It appears as though this artery were dilated to the diameter of an inch or more. Under these circumstances it has been deemed judicious and humane not to interfere. The patient is of a slender constitution, his pulse is about its natural frequency but irregular, as is also the action of the heart.
Additional Commentary
This is an unusual case in that evidently Parker deemed it prudent to take no surgical action and yet had Lam Qua paint the patient. The lighter area crowning the aneurism depicts the place where the Chinese physician applied the escharotic.
